Cute Monster Entrepreneurship
This event theme is integrated with the 2019 library exhibition "Legends and Monsters," from which nine adorable mythical creatures were developed based on the myths. These nine creatures later became the protagonists of the library's SDGs board game, starring in "Cute Monster Lead You to Practice SDGs." They have since moved beyond the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism campus to become ambassadors for promoting SDGs in the city of Kaohsiung.
The library aims to continue the spirit of the 2019 "Legends and Monsters" exhibition: imagination is a crucial weapon against the unknown and the future. We hope to explore, read, and imagine with our readers, discovering the ability to create and tell stories, and envisioning a future made great by dreams. We want faculty and students to learn more about the stories of these nine adorable creatures, thereby expanding the imagination inspired by myths and fantasy stories.
In 2024, the library has chosen "Myths, Legends, and Ancient Civilizations" as the theme for its cloud curation, planning year-round themed reading promotion activities. This will be combined with the "How does NKUHT practice sustainability" campaign to promote the ESG concepts, including workplace and corporate ethics themes, by organizing available thematic resources from the library collection and the internet, to enhance everyone’s understanding of related books and resources.
We will associate each Cute Monster with its origin story, SDG attributes, and the city of Kaohsiung, promoting concepts related to environment, society, and governance. Every 1-2 months, we will introduce a new theme, sharing the stories of each creature and their connection to ESG. The thematic reading content will be updated simultaneously in the "Library Collections " of the Alma Primo VE system and on the first and second floors of the library.
