How does NKUHT practice sustainability
The "How does NKUHT practice sustainability" theme exhibition centers around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), exploring how the hospitality and tourism professional field can promote sustainability-related concepts. The exhibition focuses on raising awareness of ESG, corporate responsibility, and corporate ethics. It incorporates the "Embrace Taiwan" series to introduce the issue of local revitalization, aiming to foster sustainable thinking among teachers and students to create a long-lasting, beautiful life.
The first-floor exhibition area
The first-floor exhibition area approaches the theme from the perspective of chefs and restaurant operators. The library identifies chefs whose business philosophies or core values align with sustainable concepts from its collection of resources, presenting their stories and social concerns.
The second-floor exhibition area
The second-floor exhibition area emphasizes local revitalization. Upon ascending the stairs, visitors will see a large map of Kaohsiung in the orange glazed display area. The library created board game characters, allowing postcards written by these characters to describe the Kaohsiung we live in. Below the skyline, local revitalization is introduced, including its definition, the reasons for its promotion, the challenges it faces, current platforms gathering local revitalization resources, and Chen Mei-ling's views on tourism. Real-life cases are used to help visitors become more familiar with these topics.
